When we started, this Farmington kitchen was dark, narrow and outdated. Our clients not only wanted to update the style of the kitchen, but transform this area of the house to bring in more light and be a space that inspired culinary adventure, and gathering loved one's together. We got right to work on a layout and design that would do just that.

As you can see, this was an extensive project, involving a full rework of the original layout. Of course the new design with its white cabinets, subway tile backsplash and cheerful hardwood immediately brightened this kitchen, but structural choices lends to this change as well: we got rid of the U shape counter, opting for a large multi-use island which allowed much more flexible floor plan. Removing the soffits was also a great improvement to the design, giving a more elegant, open appearance to the room and also allowing for a few inches of additional cabinet storage. Shifting the location of the refrigerator allowed the range to take center stage on the far side of the room, gracing the room with anchored symmetry.

We think you can agree that this kitchen renovation is a gorgeous example of what can be accomplished in the same space, with some creativity and the right team.
