Our client's home in Newington suffered extensive water damage which severely damaged their kitchen, impacting walls and the flooring. They had been living in a state of demolition since the beginning of last winter, and because of the extent of the damage, they had difficulty finding a contractor that would get back to them with a quote.

We took on the project and got them right on the schedule. The work involved repairing the exterior of their home, as well as removing a wall and reworking the  kitchen layout.

Removing the wall between the old kitchen and dining room beautifully blends the two spaces into an open floor plan, while the L shaped island retains just enough of a partition to distinguish the areas from one another. We love the way our clients redesigned their kitchen to make use of the opposite wall, and built the design around an existing window.

The new kitchen layout optimizes the space our clients were working with, as it makes full use of the opposite wall. This choice not only provided our clients with more storage and countertops, it also elevated the existing window into the design's new focal point, improving the view upon entering the room.

The final result is a space that our clients are thrilled with and is sure to gather family and friends together for years to come.
