Building a custom built-in library for a Simsbury home

Tucked into the heart of Simsbury, this home is incredibly beautiful and comfortable, well designed with lots of natural light and trim details like decadent trim and columns.
Our clients felt that their sitting room was missing an element that would help both with storage and visual interest, and came to us looking to better utilize this wall; the idea being to build library shelving with storage drawers beneath. We loved the idea, and knew that we could build something that felt unique and thoughtful and fit with the rest of the home's design.
We got started right away, building and assembling the pieces at our shop before bringing them to the home to install.
The piece is composed entirely of wood, with adjustable shelving, recessed lighting in the top units and slow close drawers. We had it professionally painted, and encased it with crown and baseboard to match the room - the final result feels as if it had always been a part of this room, and added the design balance our clients were looking for.
This is one of our favorite projects to date and truly allowed our team's talent to shine.
