We just wrapped up an addition
Our clients were looking to add some space to the rear of their West Hartford home, and rework their kitchen as well.
The home was built in the 1920's and had gorgeous original trim and doors, which we had a blast matching and reworking into the new space, to make the new rooms look as if they had always been there.
See the process from the kitchen's view below!
As you can see, the kitchen underwent some pretty significant alterations. Some of the highlights: our client ordered a fully custom copper hood, and we built the statement shelves on the far end by hand.
Off the kitchen, we extended the home to accommodate a laundry room, bathroom, and home office.
One of the most unique aspects of this project was working with the home's original doors, which had been stored in the basement for years.
We built custom jambs for all of them, and two we reworked into pocket doors; outfitting them with new hardware that suited their historic-feel perfectly.
Another fun aspect of the renovation was matching the home's original ornate trim. Each door and window got their own hand-built trim to match the rest of the 1920's home. We also ensured the picture-rail crown molding, and unique, tall baseboards were an exact match. Click the photo to watch us build it!
Reaching the end of this project, we are so proud of the work. It allowed every member of our team to show off their skills and craftsmanship, and we are grateful for our wonderful clients who trusted us with their home.
